How Much Is Each Nectar Point Worth

Do you have a wallet full of loyalty cards? Maybe you have a Nectar card hidden in the pile of plastic? Do you know how much each Nectar point is worth? Let’s break it down for you.

What is Nectar?

Nectar is owned by Sainsbury’s and you may have swiped your card over and over again whenever you visit that supermarket. You can also earn points when you shop at other places, partners of the scheme if you will. These partners include Argos, Blacks, ASOS, Boux Avenue, Domino’s Pizza and eBay. Once you’ve got a card you can earn one or two points for every pound that you spend, depending on were you are shopping.

Sainsbury’s Offers

Every week, you’ll find Sainbury’s offers in your account. Your online account on the website will detail the weekly offers. These could be for anything, with any amount of points as a bonus. 10 extra points when buying eggs or maybe 100 bonus points when you buy toilet tissue.

Partner Offers

There are also partner offers available so you can earn extra points. 1500 points if you hire a car or van from Europcar, 2000 points if you buy a TV from Argos, triple your points if you shop online at TravelSupermarket. They are all limited time offers with expiry dates so make sure you use them when you need them.

Till Tickets

Sometimes, once you’ve scanned you Nectar card and paid your balance instore, the till printer will spit out a ticket for you. This could be a promotion to gain extra Nectar points if you buy a specific product or it might even give you some money off if you spend a certain amount. These usually have an expiry date on. If you’re doing a big shop, consider splitting it into two transactions as you will be able to use the ticket you get in the first one to redeem against the second shop.

What Are They Worth?

So how much is each Necatr point worth then? Every 2 points are worth a penny. 1000 points are worth £5, 2000 points are worth £10 and so on. If you’re spending money at these places, with these retailers anyway, you might as well get something for doing so.

How Do I Spend Them?

To spend your points, simply swipe your card at Sainsbury’s or other retailers, or shop online at the Nectar website for days out, hotels and even holidays.

Download The App

As well as the online account where you can log in via the Nectar website, you can also download an app. Available on both Android & iPhone, from Google Play and the App Store, you can have an app version of your card on your phone at all times. Check your balance, find rewards on the go like cinema trips and gadgets and discover tailored-to-you offers, updated weekly.

Best For Business

Nectar have seen the advantage of rewarding small business owners as well as everyday customers. You can earn points by stocking up on business essentials and be sent offers tailored to your area of work. All your points are kept in the same place so you can still find them on the app, for example, but you can also download a Nectar notifier for your desktop. This will let you know when you’re shopping online at a place you could earn points.

So there you go. If anyone asks how much is each Nectar point worth, you know the answer, how you earn them and perhaps more importantly, where you can spend them!

Instagram post 17876783383479525 I am SO easy to market to. Last week my hair dresser posted a photo on Facebook of a copper balayage and I knew right there and then that I needed it.

I had it done today and I could not be happier with the colours. Perfect for autumn/winter and perfect for a blogger who loves rose gold 💁🏻‍♀️ #newhairwhodis #newhair #copper #rosegold #newhaircolour #autumn #winter #balayage #copperbalayage #rosegoldhair #newlook

Instagram post 18069077689160170 How handy would it be to make some extra cash before Christmas? With the house move looming and fighting anxiety I have barely thought about Christmas 2019, but at least I have been side hustling hard.

I have a blog post on how to make £1,000 for Christmas (link in my stories or my bio) but imma quickly share some ideas.

Matched betting - approximately £500 - £1,000

20Cogs - approximately £150 - £200 (check my stories for a £10 welcome bonus if you use my affiliate link)

Online surveys - approx £10 - £60

Declutter and sell - approx £50+

Loads more genuine money making ideas in my blog post.

Instagram post 17844146029764955 AD My husband and I are always talking about how we save the Nectar points we accumulate in order to buy something we need for our new house.

A great hack to share with you after having just purchased our first house together (and we are always on the hunt for ways to save money!), is to share your Nectar account with your partner, family member or housemate. This way, you can earn as many points as we do and pool them together to spend on something you really need or want.

Saving up your Nectar points mean you can get something you want with your points and really does make the saving worth it!

The handy Esso App you can download and connect your Nectar card to. This means you can pay at the pump using the app, earn your Nectar points and be on your way in no time.

Terms and conditions apply - see https://www.esso.co.uk/loyalty-program

Between 5th November 2019 and 26th February 2020, Esso customers can benefit from a Nectar points double up, helping to make the everyday more rewarding for drivers.

For every qualifying purchase of £5 or more on shop items such as milk or snacks at participating Esso Stations, customers will receive double the amount of Nectar points, simply by swiping their Nectar card at the till when they pay.

Instagram post 17918185747358729 I am really struggling with my mental health at the moment. The clock change, waiting forever to complete on the house and SAD have bitten me hard.

So grateful for the NHS - I got a same day appointment and got my Citalopram dose increased. Also grateful for my blog - I haven’t worked since Monday and let me tell you, I’ve needed it. Last month I hit my biggest earning month to date and I’m so glad I can chill a bit now.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Instagram post 17985865258302666 Hands up, who is guilty of savings things for ‘best’? I know I am 🙋🏻‍♀️ Maybe you bought yourself a treat that you haven’t yet used, or you received a lovely Christmas gift but you haven’t used it yet because you are saving it for a special occasion. It is November this week - get that used up!

You deserve to use that special item. Burn that expensive candle, use that luxury bubble bath, dig out those fancy shoes. The money is already spent.

What ‘saving it for best’ item are you going to try to use this week?

Instagram post 18109788922013087 We’ve got the autumn decor out 😍

Why is it so hard to find autumn decor in the UK? Everything we have is from America of course.

I feel so much happier in the chapel whilst we wait for our sale to complete.
