Autumn gives me all the pumpkin vibes, from decorating for Halloween to enjoy pumpkin flavoured everything! If you are looking for a quick, low cost pumpkin craft idea then I have you sorted with these pumpkin crafts. Here’s how to make coffee filter pumpkins – let’s get stuck in.
These coffee filter pumpkins take around 15 – 20 minutes to make, and the supplies listed below will make you one coffee filter pumpkin.
You will need
To get started with pumpkin crafts you will need:
- 60 Coffee Filters
- Orange Felt tip pin
- Stapler with Staples
- Hot Glue Gun with 1 Glue Stick
- Glue Paste Stick
- Wood Stick (about 8 – 10 inches long)
- 1 Piece Of Raffia Ribbon
Fold all of the coffee filters in half so that lay flat. Using the glue paste stick glue them in the middle so that it stays folded.
Then use the paste stick to carefully glue each piece to each other so that it makes a stack of 20.
Using the stapler, staple each stack in three places along the folded edge.
Take the marker and run it over the front wavy side. You can colour as much or as little as you would like to get the look you want.
Now carefully staple those three stacks to each other from the front wavy side. It should now form a ball shape.
Carefully slide the stick down through the middle opening and hot glue it in place. You want to make sure you glue on all 3 ridges to that all three pieces are glued to the stick.
Set it upright and wrap the ribbon around the stick a few times and then tie a knot in it to hold it in place.
There you have it, a coffee filter pumpkin craft. This is child-friendly (with adult help with the glue gun). You can use these to decorate for Halloween or autumn, but leaving them outside in the British weather will damage them – they are purely an inside decoration.
