  • Best Christmas Gift Ideas for Coffee Lovers

We are lucky to only have to shop for Christmas gifts for friends and family once a year because doing it more times would make things get out of hand. The problem is not just getting enough money to spend on all these people, but also the fact that getting a gift that suits each person is incredibly difficult.

Here are some tips to help you shop for a Christmas gift for the coffee lover in your life.

Start by writing a list of all the coffee lovers you know

Once you take a moment to list all the coffee drinkers in your close circle, you will have a better chance of choosing the most suitable gift ideas for coffee lovers. Chances are that most people in your circle are coffee drinkers, which means you may only have to spend a minimal amount of time getting gifts for everybody.

    Gift Certificates to Coffee Shops

You may be aware of the fact that your friend loves their daily cup of coffee, but not exactly what kind of roast they like. However, you can get them a gift certificate. They can use this to buy the coffee they love and will appreciate the thoughtful Christmas gift.

    Custom Mugs with Matching Pottery

Gifting a person a coffee mug for Christmas may not seem unique and thoughtful, but giving them a handcrafted mug together with custom pottery to match is. You can get a handcrafted set of custom pottery to gift the coffee lover in your circle. It is a gift that most cannot match, which is why it is perfect.

A Variety of Coffee Beans from Around the World

Getting an assortment of unique coffee beans online from around the world is one of the best(if not the best) gifts that you can give to a coffee lover. You may think that the option of ordering whole coffee beans on a site is better, but the beans on such sites are mass-marketed. Stay away from big coffee brands as these are available anywhere, as you want a unique gift. The best place to check is from a gourmet coffee distributor.

    Coffee Warmer

No coffee lover will not appreciate a coffee warmer for those cold winter days. No matter how high the thermostat is set in winter, the coffee always seems to get cold way too fast. A coffee warmer is the perfect gift as it will allow the coffee lover on your list to keep their coffee warm at all times and tight down to the last drop.

    Coffee Grinder

A coffee grinder is a good gift, but since you can find one in almost any department store, it does not make it unique. What makes the gift a bit more unusual is finding manual coffee grinders to go with the assortment of beans you bought. A manual coffee grinder and a handcrafted mug are also great ideas for any coffee lover that does not mind a crank-style coffee grinder made from wood.

With these ideas, you are sure to make that coffee lover appreciate your thoughtfulness during the festive season. What’s more, you may get lucky and get a lot of shopping done in one or two online shopping sessions. There is nothing more special than seeing a loved one appreciate a well-thought-out gift from you.

  • How to Create Photo Christmas Cards

There’s nothing quite like adding a personal touch to your Christmas season. One of the many ways of doing this is to create photo Christmas cards for family, friends and loved ones. Let’s run through the best ways to do this with plenty of time to spare this festive season, so everyone can enjoy them!

How to Create Photo Christmas Cards

    The All Important Photographs

If you’re going to create photo Christmas cards, one of the main ingredients of the project is an actual photograph. Many families want to send that picturesque traditional Christmas card of them all sat in the front room, wearing festive jumpers. With a decorated Christmas tree and roaring flames in the fireplace. To be able to do this though, you need to have a very quick turnaround, putting your Christmas decorations up early. Many people only put theirs up a couple of weeks before Christmas which isn’t really ideal for getting your photos printed and then your cards made and posted. So what else can you do? One idea is to head to garden centres which so often start putting their decorations up straight after Halloween. Pop your ugly Christmas jumpers on and get a friend or fellow customer to take a photo on your phone. This means you’ve got the entire month of November to organise things. If you want a professional, some photographers will take you to a Christmas tree farm where thy have an agreement with the owners to do photo shoots. This is perhaps slightly more idealistic and appealing for the front of your photo Christmas cards.

    DIY & Shop Bought Cards

Once you’ve got your photos taken, you need to get them printed. Either send them online for delivery or head to your local photo printing shop. Some supermarkets have kiosks that you can do this at too, directly from your phone or USB stick. You then need to either create your own cards to affix the photos to or buy some pre designed ones from the shop shelves. You simply slot the photograph into the front of the card which festively frames your seasonal looking family. Whilst shop bought are lovely and less time consuming, you can add a more personal touch by making your own. Once Christmas is over, the recipient might even take the photo out and frame it for all year round viewing.

    Make Your Cards Online

You can also make your photo Christmas cards online. Some of the same photo printing services you may use in the step above quite often have wonderful online creation software. This lets you choose designs, set your photo into the card design and print the entire thing off. These are then delivered to your desired address for you to write and post. If you don’t want a bulk order of identical cards, you can design and buy individual ones. These can type your seasons greetings onto the design and then get it posted directly to the recipient.

Whether you choose to make your own photo Christmas cards or design and send them online, cutting yourself out as the middleman, there are loads of ways of getting creative. Emails and text messages are wonderful things but there is something quite romantic and traditional about receiving a card through the post. Surprise someone you love with a card through the letterbox this Christmas.

  • Last Minute Christmas Gifts

You’ve had months since they first put Christmas items on the shelves. Why have you left your preset buying so late again this year? You even spot a few Easter Eggs appearing in the shops and you’ve no clue where to start with your gift list. Panic sets in. The elves are laughing at you. What do you do? Here is Mrs Pinch with a run down of some fantastic last minute Christmas gifts.

    The Gift Of Music

Give your friend or family member the gift of music this Christmas. A three month Spotify gift card costs £30, or less if you can find them on offer with a specific retailer. That’s a three month subscription to stream ad free music at your leisure. Perfect for getting those festive hits playing as you’re cooking Christmas dinner.

    Something To watch

Much the same as the above but with television. Get your loved one a subscription to Netflix or NowTV as one of their last minute Christmas gifts. Gift them the ability to binge watch Stranger Things, sing along with Bohemian Rhapsody or enjoy all the action with the live Boxing Day football. The good thing about these vouchers is that they can start immediately, as soon as the person sits down in front of the TV.

    Charitable Donations

If one of the reasons that you’ve left your gift buying so late is that you actually aren’t sure what to buy, consider a charitable donation in your loved ones name. Charities like Oxfam allow you to buy a ‘goat’ for a loved one which could be ideal for that person who already has everything. This means you pay the price that it costs to provide a goat to a family in need in a poorer country. Other charities have similar options on their websites or if you just want to donate, simply let your loved ones know that you have.

    All The Coffee

Brighten up someone’s day by treating them to a coffee or two. The likes of Starbucks and Costa have gift cards available so you can gift a sum of money to a loved one so they can enough an Americano or Cappuccino. Your local independent coffee shop might do something similar. If you’re buying for a coffee enthusiast, there are lots of coffee subscriptions available online too. Simply order it and print out the email confirmation and stuff it inside a Christmas card.

    Experiences Not Things

Has your loved one always wanted to fly a helicopter? Maybe skydiving is what they’d love or driving a super car is more up their street? What about a posh afternoon tea for two? You can book these types of experiences whenever you need to with just a few clicks. Order it on Christmas Day morning if you’ve left your gift giving that late! We all have so much stuff, giving someone some precious memories might be a break from the norm. You can also click through cashback sites to most of these gift voucher websites so it’ll cost you even less!

Well done. You’ve pulled the most perfect of last minute Christmas gifts out of your bobble hat and you’re feeling good! Now go and enjoy the festivities and don’t leave it as late next year.

  • Cheap Christmas Gifts

Otherwise known as affordable Christmas gifts, cheap Christmas gifts are perfect if you’re not wanting to spend a lot of cash but want to treat a loved one to something special. Let’s first remember that it’s not how much something costs that is important. Mrs Pinch is here to run through a few ideas for cheap Christmas gifts this year.

    In The Kitchen

Everyone has to eat, right? Whether it is traditional mince pies or a kitchen gadget, treat someone to a cookbook that they’ll love. Whether it’s a Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay or Nigella Lawson is completely up to you. Maybe you can find a camping cookbook for lovers of the great outdoors or some specific to the food of a country like Italy or Brazil. You don’t need to buy new either, check out the book shelves of your nearest charity shops. Other ideas for the kitchen are recipe cards for those who have perhaps recently moved into their own home.

    Christmas Decorations

On trend and at the right time of year, gifting a Christmas ornament for Christmas trees means they can use it straight away. There are many themed decorations these days, from Marvel to Star Wars to Harry Potter, so whatever your friend is into, you can find something suitable. It’ll cost even less if you bought it in last year’s sale or if you’re not going to see them for a few days after Christmas Day, consider buying it in the Boxing Day sales for extra affordability.

    Personal Keepsakes

Like we mentioned above, head to a charity shop and pick up a cheap photo frame. Get a friend to take a photo of you – all phones have decent cameras these days. Then get it printed out, pop it in the frame and give it to your parents this year. They’ll love having an up to date photo of their kids for the wall or their desk. This is a great idea if you have your own kids too, perfect presents for Grandparents!

    Write On

A pen and paper can be the most beautiful of gifts. With so many bargain shops on the high street you can pick up a notebook for a pound or two and when you combine it with a pen you’ve got a great gift. What they use it for is up to them. Writing songs, poems, keeping a journal. Maybe write your own little note in the front inside cover so you can encourage their creativity. Calendars and diaries are also brilliant cheap Christmas gifts.

    Affordable accessories

You don’t need to buy expensive t-shirts, dresses or jeans to update the wardrobe or style of a friend. Colourful socks or an eco tote bag can be a cheap gift they’ll love for ages. Socks might be seen as a rubbish gift but if you find perfect ones for the person they’ll laugh and enjoy them. Similarly, tote bags are cheap and with the right motto or phrase on the side, ideal!

    Keep Them Caffeinated

If your friend or family member love tea or coffee, get them some. A nice box of tea or a bag of coffee combined with a mug or cup that they’ll love is a beautiful personal gift. You haven’t spent a fortune to give it to them either!

    Fill A Jar

Make use of old jars and reuse them this Christmas. Fill them up with your loved one’s favourite sweets or chocolates. Pop an off cut of Christmas material or paper over the lid with an elastic band and you’ve got a wonderful festive gift. In the same vein, you could gift cake mix, hot chocolate mix or even a tasty bread mix. You give the ingredients, they have fun making and enjoying it. Another great idea along the same lines is to fill a jar with activities to do. A day at the beach, a visit to the zoo, a family trip to the cinema. Write them down on pieces of paper and give it as a family gift. Get the children to pull out a slip every month and enjoy making memories together.

There are so many crafty and creative ideas as well. You don’t have to spend lots of money to enjoy the festive season. Conjure up some cheap Christmas gifts and enjoy spending time together too.

  • The Best Christmas Things To Do This Year

Christmas is a fantastic family time. With the shops stocking advent calendars earlier every year and Michael Bublé crooning his festive tunes on the radio as early as Bonfire Night, it can often get overwhelming. If your Christmas season gets too long and you need to fill it with some merry things to do, we’ve got you covered. Take a look at Mrs Pinch’s list of Christmas things to do this joyous season.

    Let It Snow

Maybe we’re being a bit wishful thinking dreaming of a white Christmas but if the flakes do fall, get outside and play in it. Get the sledges out and head to the nearest hill to create amazing childhood memories. Start a snowball fight with your friends or have a snowman building competition. Don’t forget to capture these winter wonderland moments on camera too!

    Make Your Own

Of course, we might not get snow but you can still enjoy some snow flakes. Get crafty and make your own. Round up the children and get some paper and scissors, safety ones for the kids! Use them to decorate the windows of your house or save them for the Christmas tree! Enjoy festive crafting to create gift tags, household ornaments or even a wreath for your front door!

    Winter Walks

Take yourself out for a woodland winter walk. By yourself if you want a bit of head space from the festive season or with the entire family. Wrap up in hats, scarves and gloves, keep an eye out for wildlife or just sit on a bench by the river and enjoy a flask of tea.

    Ice Is Nice

There are pop up ice skating rinks all over the country during winter and it’s one of the more romantic Christmas things to do on our list. Skating hand in hand with your loved one not only spreads a bit of love through the season, it helps you both stay on your feet too! Teach your kids how to skate and make some winter memories.

    Christmas Markets

You don’t even have to buy anything at these festive markets that you find in city centres every December. You can just enjoy walking around the fairy light clad streets and see what is being sold. Maybe enjoy a few tasters and treat your loved one to a mulled wine or spiced hot chocolate to warm the cockles. Of course, Christmas markets can be the perfect place to pick up some affordable last minute presents.

    Board Not Bored

If the family are bored, break out the board games. Trivial Pursuit is fantastic and there is a junior version if the children want to get involved too. A decent game of Monopoly will get the competitive juices flowing and keep you entertained for hours. Keep a score board so you know who wins, you can even pull it out year on year to see who is the annual champion! Don’t forget about Pie Face too!

    Festive Flicks

There’s nothing quite like settling down on the sofa with the family, wrapping a blanket around you all and switching on a Christmas film. From amazing festive animations like Arthur Christmas and children’s capers such as A Muppet’s Christmas Carol to classics like It’s A Wonderful Life, enjoy the wonder of the flicks. Perhaps you could bake something festive beforehand, like a cheese puff pie wreath, to enjoy with your film of choice!

There are so many enjoyable things to do during the festive season and you don’t have to fork out for all of them. We ho-ho-hope you find lots of Christmas things to do this year.

  • Christmas presents for cats

If you are looking for some gifts for cats this Christmas season then I have put together some Christmas presents for cats that our cats love. These cat gifts will give you plenty of ideas for how to treat your furry babies this festive season, no matter what your budget.

    Christmas presents for cats

When it comes to choosing gifts for cats it can be a minefield. There are so many great stockings, toys, activities and snacks on offer. Here are my favourite Christmas presents for cats.

Of course the cats need a special stocking for their Christmas gifts. This fish shaped one is £1.99 in Home Bargains.

Our cats love stick toys, but Treecko adores any toys with a feathery but on the end, so this cat stick toy from Poundland (for £1) is going to be a favourite.

This Dreamies selection box offers 4 different flavours of Dreamies, with 30g bags. £2 from Poundland.

The cats absolutely will not wear this…but I couldn’t resist. These pet reindeer ears are just £1 from Wilko.

The cats are going to love this – it is a toy mouse that makes real life mouse squeaks. I will 100% get worried that there is a real mouse in the house! £2.99 from TK Maxx.

The cats love the crunchy toys (right) so when I saw this two pack in Home Bargains for just 99p I had to get it for them.

Cat nip toys in Christmas colours? What more could they want? These are £1 per pack from Poundland.

This was gifted for my Christmas gift guide on EmmaDrew.Info, but I absolutely had to include it here. This cat DJ scratching pad will have your cats making tunes in no time.

This Santa toy teaser is from Home Bargains for £1.29

This festive vibrating cat nip robin is £1.29 from Home Bargains.

This cat bites bauble is 99p from Home Bargains

This Garfield cat stocking has 10 items in it for £2 from B&M Bargains

Another cat stocking is £3 at B&M Bargains

Or there is a Felix one for £3 too at B&M Bargains

    Christmas gifts for cats

Don’t forget your furbaby’s drinks this Christmas with Pawsecco – alcohol free ‘wine’ for cats and dogs.

An automatic laser pointer is one of the best cat gifts you can give a cat! Simply switch it on and it runs for a few minutes keeping your cat or cats entertained.

I cannot even begin to tell you how much we want to buy this cat house for the cats to enjoy outside. At almost £70 it is definitely something we are looking to get second hand or on sale, but I think it would be great for Alaska in particular who loves our massive chapel loft because the temperate feels like outside without getting her paws cold.

    our christmas cat gifts

Here are the gifts that we have for our little tribe this Christmas. We might add in more Dreamies and snacks for them as the big day draws closer.
